DEF52312 Diploma of Work Health Safety

Overview:


This qualification is part of the Defence Training Package and allows for recognition, flexibility and portability for persons employed full-time or part-time or in a voluntary capacity in Defence. It allows for specialisation in the areas of community education, community liaison, buildings and facilities inspection, compliance audits, and workplace emergency response.

This course is conducted internally with-in the Department of Defence and is available to Defence Personnel only.

8 Days with additional reading and assessment requirements out of hours.

3 Day Unit Safety Coordinator Course

Course Description

This course provides members with theoretical instruction on the knowledge and skills required to implement the Defence safety management system. The Nationally Recognised Units of Competency delivered are course assessed. Assessment is achieved via a number of methods including class discussion, question and answer, group activities and workplace projects.

Course Aim

To train Military and APS personnel in the knowledge and skills required to effectively fulfil the roles and responsibilities of a Safety Coordinator.

Prerequisites

There are no prerequisites for this course.

Course Recognition

On successful completion members may obtain a Statement of Attainment towards a Diploma of Work Health safety DEF52312. Statements of attainment and qualifications are issued by Health Services International Pty Ltd.

5 Day Unit Safety Adviser Course

Course Description

Packaging Rules:

10 units of competency are required for this qualification including:
 7 core units
 3 elective units

Choose a minimum of 1 elective units from the list below.

Choose the remaining 2 elective units from either the list below, or elsewhere within this training package, or another endorsed training package, or accredited course.

Where a pre-requisite unit is attached to an elective unit it is identified by this symbol ∟.

The pre-requisite units attached to any of the elective units must be undertaken and are additional to the number of elective units required for the qualification.

The elective units should be selected from the units that most closely align to an individual’s occupational outcomes. Electives selected must not duplicate outcomes of other units. Elective units selected must not duplicate content already covered by other units in this qualification.
